The Villa Reale

The first storic new about the Villa Reale  project is a Piermarini's document, in the same the architect propose to build a big palace near Monza city. Piermarini wanted to build the palace in the highest zone in Monza on the way that join Milano to Vienna.

But in the final project the architect preffer to chose a better link with the territory.The same planimetry (with a "U" form) explain this chose.

Villa Reale "rises" in the north of Monza city, near the centre.The costruction was built in three years (1777-1780),for the archduke Ferdinando of Austria, but when the Lombardy was free to the Austrians, and become propriety of Savoia family it took the name of Villa Reale.

The Villa is in a neo-classic style, inspired to Caserta's palace or at the most famous Versailes's palace.The body is put in a beautiful park,that is very big, about 800 ha., and it is still frequented.
